Is it the money or your health?
July 16 2011

Setting the world right with a good friend over a nice coffee recently, we concluded many people live for the here and now rather than acting on their personal and family long term prospects. A bit like many who smoke acknowledging a future risk, but not doing anything about it until the doctor delivers a hard message.

Similarly with cleaning chemicals - short term cleaning needs balanced against future health risks.  If people really knew what their exposure to the chemicals found in spray cleaners could affect, the belief is many would adopt the Activeion alternative ahead of the next nice thing they aspire to own. Forget that fancy new 'phone or 3D TV and invest in your future health today. As existing users and converts to the ionators, we should be actively encouraging places like schools and child-care centres to get rid of these dangerous chemicals. Unfortunately, there exists a legacy of - if it's sold in a supermarket it must be safe. And the other good one about tiny exposures being OK – after all, we are talking about parts per billion right?

Consider this: effective medicinal drugs that have been COMPLETELY tested for human impact are delivered in doses measured in parts per billion. Over 90% of chemicals have not been tested for human impact, and practically none have been tested in combination with others, nor for bioaccumulation. I wonder how many nasty diseases could be easily avoided by eliminating exposure to harmful chemicals?
